This coming Lord’s Day, we will have an abbreviated service that will be livestream only. Complete information will be forthcoming this week.
Last Sunday, I was optimistic that we could continue our Sunday services in person, even if we had to divide services to keep our gatherings smaller. But by Monday it became clear that that was unrealistic.
I haven’t been through anything like this either. In times of crisis people often turn (if only temporarily) to the church. But the spread of c-19 has churches suspending services. I keep thinking of Jesus’ teaching, “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” I have always struggled with this, and I still do. So, if you are struggling too, know that you are not alone.
In-person community is so important. We need each other. And even if we can’t meet in person, we need to continue to look out for one another. Together, and by God’s grace, we will get through this.
